The new DA is now 46% and will benefit around 47.58 lakh central government employees and 69.76 lakh pensioners.

The AICPI ( All-India Consumer Price India) plays a crucial role in determining the percentage of the DA hike for government employees.

DA is granted to government employees, while Dearness Relief (DR) is for pensioners.

The importance of DA is in compensating against price rises and maintaining purchasing power for employees’ salaries.

Several states, like Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Karnataka, have also increased DA for their employees recently, reflecting the significance of DA in ensuring fair compensation amid inflationary pressures.
